If you love luxury and love to get out and see exotic places in this beautiful world, then boat cruising is for you!  Cruises are extremely popular and many people that are seeking a vacation are opting for this vacation choice.  Boat cruising is unlike any other type of vacation.  These vacations are fun, exotic, and have luxury written all over it.

Boat cruising is fun because you get to stay on a huge massive boat, sleep on it, have your own hotel room, and there are tons of places to eat, shop, and tons of shows to entertain you.  Cruising is the definition of the word fun in every way.  They are also fun because there are tons of different types of cruise boats that range in all different sizes and amenities to choose from while on the ship.  There are also tons of different destinations that you can visit while cruising that also adds to the fun element of things

If you want an exotic type of vacation, this is it!  Cruises go almost everywhere from the beaches of Mexico to the rich history of Rome and Italy.  If you are feeling more tropical you can easily visit the Bahamas or visit the Caribbean to meet your tropical lust.  Seeing new places on a fancy floating hotel is a fun experience and truly gives you the opportunity to experience exotic locations, food, culture, and other activities that are plentiful in any cruise boat docking area.

Boat cruising is a very luxurious way to have a vacation.  The boats are extremely detailed and have been created to look very fancy.  For example, the eating rooms are lavishly decorated, the atrium’s and halls are extremely modern, and the entertainment is amazing.  A cruise boat feels like you are floating around on a 5 star hotel with tons of amenities, high class shopping, and luxurious entertainment to make you feel like a King or Queen.  The food is also something that spares no expense.  Complete and lavish meals are served on the boat to really cater to your pallet and give you some new things to try.  All the food is made by chefs who even serve you themselves in some cases to make sure your food experience is amazing.

Are you going on vacation, and yet, ideas of what to do evade you? Are you waiting for the weekend, but all that greets you is yard work? Consider river cruises, an activity that can be done in a day, or a weekend. River cruises encompass everything you need for a fun, relaxing vacation; scenic views, music, gambling, and catering.

Riverboat cruise can be done anywhere there is a river, from the Mississippi’s wide green stretches, to the red rock canyons of Moab, Utah, to France’s canals through historic architecture, even down the Amazon.  A cruise down a river is slower, showing each rivers unique formations, and idyllic views. Often there is a guide, telling stories of the formations, cities, history, or landscapes, giving each river its own personality. There may be food, drink, or entertainment involved, keeping things interesting and fun.

When choosing a river cruise, think about the type of activities you want to indulge in, and who you are going to enjoy the river with. Some cruises are geared toward families with children, others specific to couples, and still more that are for groups of friends. Thinking about this will keep you from a cruise that is otherwise inappropriate for you.

Some river cruises are themed, and the area or culture of a place dedicates the themes.  Think about if you want to participate in a themed trip, or if something more low key and relaxing is right for you. Whichever you choose, you will be sure to have a great time.

Riverboat Cruising

I knew I needed a vacation and I thought a cruise to another country sounded nice, but I read an

article on riverboat cruising and it gave me a whole new perspective on cruising.  I had no idea you could get to many of the well known and not so well known historic and beautiful inland locations by boat.  Better yet, you can find a cruise down a river on most of the higher populated continents with navigable rivers.

I needed to find more information on what was available and how I could sign up for one of the cruises.  It was amazing how many sources of information were available and in publications I usually read.  The Sunday newspaper this week was running some advertisements in the travel section for riverboat cruising.  The advertisements provided phone numbers to call to be placed on a mailing list to regularly receive flyers with information on the latest cruises being offered: dates of the cruises, costs for the boat cruise, description of the accommodations available, flights to the embarkation point.  There was also a web site that you can go to to get this information.  Another source I found was a magazine like Sunset that has information in every issue about different travel opportunities including river cruises all over the world.

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of trips available to sign up for.  If I wanted to I could take a trip every month of the year.  You can find cruises down the Danube, Rhine, and Elba rivers in Europe, the Columbia, Snake, and Mississippi rivers in the United States, the Yangtze and Mekong rivers in Asia, the Nile River in Africa, and the Svir River in Russia offered through companies like Viking River Cruises, Cruise West, and other sailing companies.  You just need to find the one that offers the amenities you want and/or can afford.  They also offer different sizes of sailing vessels.  Riverboat cruising sounds so exciting!

Spring is already here and we’re moving quickly towards the first day of summer so I hope everyone’s started thinking about what boat cruise they would like to take this summer season.  There’s a lot to think about in order to decide where you want to go and how many cruises you might be able to take.  You probably have about four months of nice

If you can only take one cruise this summer begin by deciding which area in the world is most interesting to you right now.  Consider the history of the towns you’ll be visiting as you cruise down the river. Think about what kind of land excursions you want to take each time the boat docks.  Decide how long you want your riverboat cruises to be – one week, two weeks, longer.  Be sure to go on-line to the web sites of the cruise lines that offer these small boat cruises and order their brochures that give the details about the accommodations on the boats.  Some are more elegant than others.  You can also get less expensive rooms on some of the boats that have the more upscale staterooms.  The brochures will give you the details about the prices of the staterooms.  They should also provide pictures of the rooms.  Each brochure from the companies offering the voyages, such as Cruise West, will provide a breakdown of all the
costs and what exactly your fare will be providing.  It’s amazing all the little costs involved that you don’t usually think about.

If you are considering an overseas cruise it would be a good idea to check the cruise lines’ web sites.  Each foreign country has their own entry requirements and the cruise lines web sites will provide the information you need to know about such things as visas, vaccinations, money exchange rates, etc.  If you haven’t gotten a passport yet, you better get a move on.  You need one to get in and out of all the countries.  After applying for one, wait time until you receive it can vary.  Lots to do before your riverboat cruises begin!
